MENTOR, OH – August 2014 – Libra Industries, a privately held world-class Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider that has been in business for more than 30 years, has announced the acquisition of Tetrad Electronics, a competing Ohio-based EMS company with 2013 sales of $10 million. Libra Industries will assume full ownership of Tetrad Electronics, effective immediately. The acquisition is a major step in Libra Industries’ strategy to increase revenues and capture a larger share of the electronics contracting market.
Established in 1983, Tetrad Electronics is an electronics contract manufacturer, similar to Libra Industries, that produces printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs). As a result of the acquisition, Libra Industries will add the ability to manufacture cable assemblies, wire harnesses and over-molded assemblies. Prior to the acquisition, Tetrad Electronics has operated two manufacturing facilities in Willoughby and Hudson, Ohio with 60 employees, all of whom will join the Libra Industries team.
“Combining Libra Industries and Tetrad Electronics brings more than 65 years of experience and manufacturing expertise to the table,” stated Rod Howell, CEO and owner of Libra Industries. “We are looking forward to joining forces with Tetrad’s team, and together creating an expanded list of services that will make our customers more competitive and profitable”.
Throughout the years, Libra Industries has earned an impressive list of industry credentials including ISO 9001:2008, ISO 13485, UL, CSA, FDA and ITAR, among others. Libra Industries™ investment in Tetrad Electronics demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to providing customized manufacturing solutions to help make its customers more competitive and improve their profitability.
